About The Authors

Rex Andrews and Jonathan Canales are the co-founders of Pathway Training in Porter, TX, the premier personal training and fitness destination in the Greater North-Houston Area. Founded in 2018, their focus was to make fitness approachable and realistic for the average person.


Since 2019, they’ve cohosted the Pathway Podcast with over 90 Episodes.


They’ve coached business executives, Ironman athletes, entrepreneurs, marathon champions, stay-at-home parents and everyone in between. Ultimately, it’s always been about the same focus; long-term sustainable fitness changes.


With this book and their flagship program, The Pathway Challenge, they have specialized in helping busy, career-driven, family men find a way to balance pursuing their health and personal goals with the demands of a stressful life.

Jonathan Canales is a nutrition specialist. He has a bachelor's in kinesiology from St. Edwards University in Austin, Texas, and a Master's of Sports Management from the University of Alabama (Roll Tide). He is a certified nutrition coach through Precision Nutrition and completed the Houston Marathon in 2020.


Jonathan was overweight most of his life and had tried almost every fad diet you could think of to lose weight. He had lost and gained 20-30 lbs several times over the years. Once he stopped looking at fad diets for the answer and started learning what he needed to eat that would work for him and his lifestyle, he has been able to keep the weight off. Now, he has coached hundreds of other men to learn what they need to eat to lose weight, keep it off, and get into the best shape of their life.


Jonathan is a big sports fan, he loves to stay active by playing sports with friends, running, and hiking. He lives in his hometown of Kingwood, TX.



Rex Andrews is a former internationally-touring professional wrestler who has been coaching fitness for 11 years. In 2015, he was the head coach at The Great Khali’s Pro Wrestling School in Punjab, India. In 2017, he brought 2x WWE Hall of Famer, Booker T out of retirement for one more match.


Rex holds a number of certifications and accomplishments including:, completing the Houston Marathon in 2020, holds a black belt in taekwondo, he is a certified personal trainer, a sports performance specialist, and a corrective exercise specialist. Rex focuses on fitness program design.


Rex and his wife, Taylor enjoy traveling, hiking, and tennis. They live in Kingwood, TX with their Dalmatian, Rockso.
